Our planting equipment is ingeniously crafted from repurposed backpacks, obtained either through generous donations or savvy purchases for under R500.
These backpacks undergo careful modification to accommodate a single tray capable of holding 128 loose capsules.
Loaded with young saplings, each tray weighs approximately 13-15kg, mirroring the ideal weight of an overnight pack for optimal carrying comfort. To ensure durability without sacrificing portability, we utilise lightweight materials such as aluminium square tubing, flat bars, and corner pieces in our construction.
This meticulous attention to detail ensures that our planting equipment remains robust yet lightweight, enabling efficient and comfortable tree-planting efforts in diverse terrains and conditions.
